Felice's Farm
Why We Are Doing This
In loving memory of Felice Priante.
My father, and my children's Nonno, was five years old when he began working the family land in the mountains of southern Italy.
Five years old.
Not playing in the fields. Working. Because that was what his family needed, and because even then, he understood something that would define his entire life: when people depend on you, you show up.
By twelve, he was driving his uncle's truck through the countryside before sunrise, collecting milk from neighboring farms and delivering it to the local caseificio, where it would become fresh cheese.
Then he would climb onto the family tractor and use it to power a water pump, helping other farmers bring water to their fields.
He was still a child, but already the person others counted on.
He later served in the Italian Army as a truck driver. In 1966, he left the country he loved and immigrated to the United States, carrying little more than his determination, his work ethic, and the hope of building a better life.
New York did not give him an easy beginning.
He worked hard, humble jobs and did whatever was necessary to provide for his family. Eventually, he managed a fruit store, where customers, neighbors, and coworkers all came to know him the same way.
Everyone loved him.
He had a gift for making people feel welcome, seen, and cared for. Whether he was helping a farmer water a field in Italy or greeting someone in a New York fruit store, he gave people the same thing: the feeling that they mattered.
His name was Felice.
In Italian, felice means happy.
He liked to say he was happy by name and happy by fact. And despite the long days, the sacrifices, and the years spent far from the mountains where he grew up, he proved it every day.
In 1972, through years of hard work and sacrifice, he bought our family farm in Italy.
He had left the mountains, but the mountains had never left him.
That land became a connection between everything he had been and everything he hoped to leave behind: the boy working in the fields, the young man who crossed an ocean, and the family he built through love, resilience, and sacrifice.
My father, my children's Nonno, is gone now.
Returning to Italy without him is painful in a way that is difficult to describe. The mountains are still there. The fields are still there. The land still carries the beauty he loved.
But there is a silence where his voice used to be.
For a while, I did not know what to do with that silence.
Then I realized we could answer it.
We could bring the land back to life.
We could plant olive trees in the soil my father loved. We could restore the farm he worked so hard to own. And we could give other families a meaningful way to honor the people whose sacrifices, love, and memory still shape their lives.
- A mother who gave everything.
- A grandfather who crossed an ocean.
- A father whose hands never stopped working.
- A child, a spouse, a friend, or anyone whose name deserves to remain part of this world.
That is why we created Felice's Farm.
Each dedicated olive tree will be planted and cared for in the Italian countryside, with a personalized plaque carrying the name of someone you love, someone you miss, or someone whose story deserves to keep growing.
We are beginning with a limited number of founding dedications because we believe in doing this the right way: planting responsibly, growing honestly, and keeping every promise we make.
This is not the sale of land or ownership of a plot. It is an opportunity to dedicate a tree, support its planting and care, and participate in the life of a growing family olive farm under the terms of your selected dedication.
While newly planted trees mature, eligible founding members will receive the olive oil included in their membership from our sister farm until the grove begins producing.
Over time, the trees will grow. The roots will deepen. The grove will become a living tribute to the people who made us who we are.

My father, my children's Nonno, was named Felice.
He spent his life helping things grow.
Now we are doing the same in his honor. And, if you choose, in honor of someone you love.
Dedications
Some Names Deserve More Than a Memory
In Memory
Honor someone who has passed with a living tribute in the Italian countryside.
In Gratitude
Celebrate a parent, grandparent, immigrant, or loved one whose sacrifices made your life possible.
For the Future
Dedicate a tree to a child, family member, wedding, anniversary, or meaningful milestone.
Every dedication supports the planting and care of an olive tree at Felice's Farm. Personalized plaques, annual membership benefits, olive oil fulfillment, and dedication terms are subject to availability and the applicable membership agreement.
The grove is at an early stage. Trees shown in photographs on this site are illustrative of mature groves in the region, not of trees already planted at Felice's Farm. Founding dedications reserve trees that are planted during a scheduled planting season, and your dedication term begins on the actual planting date.
